Environmental
Being an ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified company, BETAMEK is committed to best practices in monitoring and minimising the HSE impact on our operations.
Our objectives are to fully comply with all authority and legal requirements and to improve resource conservation and environmental protection.
Our completed initiatives include:
- the installation of a solar photovoltaic energy generating system with a DC capacity of 515.2kWp.
- scheduled waste disposal
- periodic workplace inspection by HSE committee members
- ISO 14001/45001 Internal Auditor training and audit
- scheduled air emission monitoring by certified 3rd parties
- safety induction for all new employees and all contractors
- Deployment of first aid kits and HSE facilities with defibrillators, stretchers, sick bay, emergency eye wash and showers.
- scheduled checks and maintenance of all fire fighting equipment and systems
Social
Our employees drive the performance of the company and we have an obligation to the community we operate in. Since its inception, Betamek employs 100% local Malaysian workers, in full support of the Malaysian Government's policy to reduce reliance on foreign labour.
Our social initiatives include:
